Luderitz Cold Stores | Eat Africa | Russian market development

Case study A: Luderitz Cold Stores

The port authority of Namibia, Namport, initiated further development of its port at Luderitz. In Phase 1, a perishables cold store is to be developed to facilitate perishable exports originating from Namibia, and also from South Africa.

The contract to develop Namport’s Luderitz facility was secured by 2 South African companies. These two partners recruited NewFront Consulting to conduct a feasibility and breakeven analysis for the R42 million cold store facility, assist in securing finance and complete a business plan and implementation schedule. This project was performed in collaboration with Jeff Wedgewood Consulting Engineers.
